EXPLANATION OF FUNCTION: The distraction frame is a free rolling frame. There is no fixed connection between it and the main frame. The end of the actuator pushes it away from the main frame during distraction. The frame is pulled back to the home position by the heads of two bolts secured in a bracket at the end of the actuator rod.
- Remove the leg cushion. There is a hex head bolt near each corner of the cushion that can removed with a 7/16" wrench or socket.
- The area you need to focus on is in the center area of the picture. There is a large red spring and a shoulder bolt on each side.
- Observe the head of each shoulder bolt. The bolt head should not be hard against the plate. If there is a rubber washer behind the head of the bolt, as shown in the photo, it should not be compressed.
- If the rubber washer is compressed, it can be removed from the bolt to take pressure off the load cell. Use a sharp blade to cut the washer and remove it.
