Move the Control Box to the Thoracic Area of the Frame
NOTE: This is only practical to do if the release is mounted with the black molded piece and can be mounted on the lumbar cushion and the table has the 24VDC system so that the cable can be easily rerouted.
The control box can be moved from its original location to the area under the thoracic cushion. It will be secured with 1/4-20 by 3/4" long bolts.
- Remove the six screws that secure the upper section of the plastic enclosure ('the skirt") to the top frame and allow the enclosure to rest on the base.
- Remove the screw that is in the center of the plastic panel that would be behind the control box as shown so that the control box will rest flat against the plastic.
- The release trigger for the Mechlok will need to be moved to the lumbar cushion. Drill a 1 1/4" hole with a spade bit. Be careful to not drill into the foam.
- Hold the control box, without the front panel, against the plastic panel and drill 1/4" holes for the bolts. One of the bolts should pass through the metal tab that is behind the plastic cover.
- The new mount bolts can be inserted from the back side of the plastic panel and nuts added inside the box to secure it.
