LINEAR POTENTIOMETER TESTER:

CONNECTIONS:
- "Phone" plug into Port 1 on the Click PLC.

2. Red and black leads to the power supply.

3. Observe the touchscreen as you extend and retract the actuators. The numerical values should change at an even rate. If any are eratic than focus on the wiper and linear potentiometer for that function.
Verify that the three pins of the potentiometer wire are connected.

As each actuator extends and retracts a wiper moves along a linear potentiometer strip. The tip of the wiper is plastic and is spring loaded. The sensor strip should be parallel to the motion of the wiper so that there is constant contact. Step on the pedal to move the foot up and down while you watch the relationship between the wiper and the sensor strip. Look carefully. The wiper can be adjusted in and out. If the spring loaded plastic tip is pushed in all the way then the metal part will tear the surface of the sensor.
