The table can be gently turned on its side to access the actuator for lubricating.
- If your table has a grease fitting on the bottom side (see photo} than you can use a standard grease gun such as those used for lubing automobiles. A "squirt" or two is sufficient. Do not force in excess. The grease can be a standard bearing grease sold for automotive bearings. Here are the specific details about grease:
NO silicon-based or molly-type
NO heavy weight such as 80 or 90 weight
YES to petroleum-based, such as a bearing grease YES to lithium-based
YES to 30 weight, the manufacturer uses that weight
In 2004 the manufacturer began using a hi-tech grease that does not need to be replenished so there is no longer a grease fitting on the bottom of the actuator housing.
2. A film of grease can be spread on the bearing surface of the screw. Be careful to not put too much. Any excess will soften when it gets warm from the actuator friction and could drip on your floor.

ACTUATOR
-Lubricating the Screw-
The actuator is mounted to the base at the head end of the table. The large screw can be accessed from the bottom side of the table by carefully tilting the table to one side.

A clicking sound during elevation may be quieted by adding a small amount of bearing grease to the surface of the large screw where the ball nut rides.
