Symptom - Tilt lays back but does not come up to level the seat
This flat cover may be bearing down on and "turning off" the micro switch underneath it.
Begin by removing just the screw at the foot end of the cover and refer to the next photo.
If that doesn't work then remove the screw on each side of the cover. The screw heads are hidden under the black edging. CAUTION: Be careful not to touch the electrical connections on the micro switch.
Does the Tilt move in the down direction while the cover is lifted? If it still doesn't move than it could a loose wire at the switch or the capacitor. The next page shows the other micro switch that limits the horizontal postion of the Tilt seat.
The picture shows the switch located near the middle of the top frame. Check the two wires for a lose connection. Remove the two wires and do a continuity test across the two terminals. This is the "normally closed" termination so your meter should show continuity without actuating the micro switch.
