Routine Daily Cleaning
Hill Laboratories Leather & Vinyl Cleaner:
Regular use of our vinyl cleaner helps prevent the buildup of dirt and stains. Apply the cleaner with a soft cloth or sponge, gently wiping the vinyl surfaces. Wipe away any excess cleaner with a clean, damp cloth.
Protex Disinfectant Spray:
Specifically formulated for medical tables and chairs, Protex is hospital grade, alcohol free and effective against a broad spectrum of pathogens, including MRSA, HIV, Staph, COVID-19 and many others. Apply the cleaner with a soft cloth or sponge, gently wiping the vinyl surfaces. Leave the product to evaporate.
Warm Soapy Water:
If you don’t have either of the above, routine cleaning can be performed with a 50/50 mix of warm water and mild, pH-neutral dish soap. Dampen a soft cloth or sponge in the soapy water. Gently wipe the vinyl surfaces, focusing on stained areas. Wipe away any residue with a clean, damp cloth.
Stubborn Stains
Caution: When removing stubborn stains, aggressive rubbing or scrubbing may cause irreversible discoloration or abrasion of the material surface. Always test any cleaning method on a small, inconspicuous area first.
Low Odor Mineral Spirits:
Dampen a cloth with low odor mineral spirits. Gently blot the stained area, avoiding excessive rubbing. Wipe away any remaining residue with a clean, damp cloth.
White Vinegar and Water:
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water. Dampen a cloth or sponge in the solution. Gently blot the stain, then wipe the area with a clean, damp cloth.
Preventative Tips
Avoid Harsh Chemicals:
Refrain from using abrasive or harsh chemicals on the vinyl surfaces. This includes bleach, alcohol, citrus or common household cleaners. Harsh chemicals may discolor, dry or crack vinyl and will degrade the stitching that will result in open seams and holes.
Prompt Cleaning:
Address spills and stains promptly to prevent them from setting into the vinyl, hardware or electronics. Any cleaning agent or water that is left on metal or hardware frames may degrade the quality and/or rust.
Gentle Brushes or Cloths:
Use soft brushes or cloths for cleaning to avoid scratching or damaging the vinyl.
Regular Inspections:
Periodically inspect vinyl surfaces for any signs of wear or damage. Clean the surfaces regularly even if they appear stain-free to maintain hygiene.
